Our Corporate Social Responsibility Policy
As a responsible corporate citizen, we strongly believe in a sustainable future which enhances quality of life. As part of our Triple Bottom Line strategy, we endeavor to promote environmental sustainability. We have thus reengineered our business processes and operations and promoted a corporate culture which creates strong employee involvement for making positive contributions to promote green growth of our business.
Through the centralization of our mail delivery centers and optimization of our mail collection and distribution routes and the implementation of Green Office and IT practices, we have managed to reduce the fuel consumption of our fleet of vehicles and energy consumption and hence reduce our carbon footprint.
We also contribute regularly to the promotion of arts, education, culture and national heritage as well as to the promotion of philatelic culture in Mauritius. We are also actively engaged in various programmes aimed at educating consumers about environmental protection either through our own initiatives or through global initiatives of the Universal Postal Union
Junior Philatelic Club
We give the opportunity to the youth to discover and enjoy philately as a hobby through regular presentations in schools.
In association with the Blood Donors Association we have established the first fixed points for blood collection in our Post Offices at Port Louis and Quatre Bornes and in Rodrigues at Port Mathurin.
We participate in the campaign to create awareness on non-communicable diseases like HIV Aids, alcohol and other drug abuses by raising regular informative meetings among our staff and public (NatrEsa).
Collection of used envelope
We will be soon setting up collection points for used envelopes through our network of 112 Post Offices.
The Mauritius Post Ltd is also participating in the “Maurice Ile Durable” programme.
